Last updated: 12 September 2026

1 Introduction

At LTMart (www.ltmart.org), your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes the types of information we collect, how we use it, whom we share it with, and the choices you have regarding your personal data.

By using LTMart, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please do not use our platform.

LTMart is committed to handling your personal data responsibly, transparently and in line with Zimbabwean data protection principles as well as the reasonable expectations of our users across Southern Africa, China and beyond.

2 Who We Are

LTMart is an independent, fully homegrown B2C e-commerce marketplace founded and self-developed by a Zimbabwean entrepreneur, Terence Mware. We operate from Harare, Zimbabwe, and serve buyers and sellers across Zimbabwe, Southern Africa and China.

For the purposes of this policy, "we", "us" and "our" refer to LTMart, and "you" refers to any visitor, buyer, seller or partner using our platform.

3 Information We Collect

We collect information in the following ways:

3.1 Information you provide directly

  • Account details — name, username, email address, phone number and password when you register.
  • Order details — shipping address, billing address, payment confirmation, product preferences and order history.
  • Seller details — business name, shop description, product listings, bank or mobile money details for payouts, and verification documents when you register as a seller.
  • Communication — messages you send through our contact form, chat, WhatsApp or email.
  • Reviews & feedback — ratings, reviews and comments you submit on products or sellers.

3.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device & browser data — IP address, browser type, operating system, device type, screen size and language.
  • Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, search queries, session duration and referring URLs.
  • Location data — approximate city and country derived from your IP address to help us show relevant delivery options and prices.
  • Cookies & similar technologies — as described in Section 5.

3.3 Information from third parties

  • Payment confirmation from payment processors (we do not store your full card details).
  • Fraud prevention and security signals from trusted partners.
  • Logistics and courier updates for orders in transit.

4 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To provide our services — process orders, arrange delivery, manage your account and enable seller payouts.
  • To personalise your experience — show products, categories and delivery options relevant to your location and preferences.
  • To communicate with you — confirm orders, respond to enquiries, send important account notifications and, if you opt in, marketing updates.
  • To keep LTMart safe — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, spam, bots and other malicious activity.
  • To improve our platform — analyse how users interact with LTMart so we can improve features and performance.
  • To comply with the law — meet legal, tax and regulatory requirements in Zimbabwe, Southern Africa and other relevant jurisdictions.

We only use your data for the purposes stated above, and we do not sell your personal data to third parties.

5 Cookies & Tracking Technologies

LTMart uses cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in during your session.
  • Remember your preferences, such as your chosen delivery country.
  • Measure traffic and understand which products and pages are most popular.
  • Improve security by detecting suspicious activity.

You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings at any time. Please note that some parts of LTMart may not function properly if you disable cookies.

We use only essential and functional cookies on LTMart. We do not use intrusive third-party advertising cookies.

6 Sharing & Disclosure

We may share your information with the following parties, strictly for the purposes described in this policy:

Category Purpose
Sellers To fulfil your order — name, delivery address and contact details are shared with the seller or shop you purchased from.
Logistics & couriers To deliver your order and provide tracking updates.
Payment processors To process payments securely (Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, EcoCash).
Service providers Hosting, analytics and customer support partners who operate under strict confidentiality.
Legal authorities When required by law, court order or to protect the rights, property or safety of LTMart, our users or the public.

We never sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

7 International Transfers

Because LTMart connects buyers and sellers across Zimbabwe, Southern Africa and China, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own. For example, when you order a product from a Chinese supplier, order details are shared with that supplier for fulfilment.

Whenever we transfer personal data across borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected and is only handled in accordance with this policy.

8 Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide you with our services and maintain your account.
  • Comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
  • Resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

When your data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymise it. Account-related information is typically retained for the lifetime of your account and for a reasonable period after you close it, unless a longer retention period is required by law.

9 How We Protect Your Data

We take data security seriously. The measures we use include:

  • Encryption in transit — HTTPS is enforced across LTMart.
  • Secure payment processing — card details are handled by PCI-compliant payment providers and never stored on our servers.
  • Access controls — internal access to personal data is restricted to authorised staff who need it to do their job.
  • Monitoring & rate-limiting — we monitor traffic for suspicious behaviour and block malicious activity.
  • Regular review — we regularly review our systems and update our protections.

While no online platform can guarantee absolute security, we work continuously to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.

10 Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct any inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Objection — object to certain uses of your data, such as direct marketing.
  • Restriction — ask us to restrict how we process your data in certain situations.
  • Portability — request a portable copy of the data you provided to us.
  • Withdraw consent — opt out of marketing emails or cookies at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@ltmart.org. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

11 Children's Privacy

LTMart is not intended for children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

12 Third-Party Links

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites, sellers' stores, courier trackers or payment pages. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.

13 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you through the platform.
